No more destination
NO MORE PAIN

He stirred in his seat. He hated formal things like this. Why was he forced to have higher class parents? He was no prince—close those. Rich parents lead to way too many dinners with random people he supposedly knew and dressing in uncomfortable, itchy formal attires. He tugged on the collar of his shirt uncomfortably, pursing his lips. Sitting near the head of the table, there were bound to be a few gazes locked to him, right? He shifted uncomfortably, grasping at the edges of the seat. His gaze traveled to his parents. He shot his mother a pleading look.

Twenty-one years of age and still controlled by his parents. It was probably because he had the brain of a two year old to some people. He was smart; he could take care of himself! He was an adult for god’s sake. Oh well—he wasn’t going to tell off his parents any time soon. Unless he found the reason to, which he hadn’t. Might as well keep going with it. But, he wanted to get out of this dinner—like the other dinners he managed to escape.

He wanted to find an excuse to get out of this all ready. He was bound to find one. He always did. It was so simple for him. All he needed was to find the perfect moment to escape the grasps of his parents and he could ditch. That would be great. He scratched his neck with discomfort. His father shot him a look that said “stop doing that,” but, he ignored him and continued to itch his neck.

How much longer of this? He wondered, shifting several times in his seat. Comfort was probably mad at him…if that was possible of course. He continued to send pleading look to his parents, and to his dismay, they ignored him. He made a face. Oh, the excuses he could make at this moment. Maybe something about hives? Psh, that didn’t sound very realistic. He decided to go with something simple.

“I need some air.” He said, glancing over at his parents. Acting, oh the things it could be used for. Jin probably acted oh so well. His mother nodded at him—she obviously could tell it was an act though. He was grateful that he had his mother on his side when he wanted to escape these dinners. Sliding off of the chair, he hurried out of the home as quickly as he could.

The cool, night air pressed against his cheeks. It was warm out that night. But when wasn’t it warm in the Fire Nation? He smirked to himself, digging his hands into his pockets. He wondered what was going on with his dragon, Akio. He had kept the dragon in a stall the entire day. Might as well let him out before it tore the stall apart. He strolled absently until he came across the dragon stalls. It was empty, rather than Akio, who was now banging against the stall door.

Jin smirked, approaching the stall casually. It was kind of lame but, Akio was practically his best friend. Or his only friend at that. He ran his hand through the scales of the dragon, who calmed down immediately at his touch. Akio nudged his head against him as he pushed open the stall door. What was he, a dragon whisperer or something? He snickered at the thought as his dragon hurried out of the stall.

Akio continued to brush against him as he led him out. “Whoa there,” he chuckled, stepping away from his dragon. But, he continued to follow him around, making noises ever so often. He rolled his eyes, plopping onto the grass tiredly. Maybe he should’ve snuck into his bedroom. Oh well, he was all ready out here, wasn’t he? Akio flopped onto the floor beside him and curled into a ball. Why was he given the strangest dragon there could be? He wondered. Oh well, that didn’t matter anymore now did it? He was given a dragon because he had proven his fire bending to the fire bending masters. That was good, right?

Fire danced on the brink of his fingertips, sparks of ember easing its way into the sky gracefully. Fire was life, not a curse. He had to always remind himself this so he could fire bend without rage. He drew a deep breath before cutting off the fire, leaving himself in darkness.

Bujing glanced to the right to see a small boy, obviously homeless, drawing with a small white stone on the hard, dark roads of the fire nation capital city. He was wearing only rags, and his face was dirty.
The old man grunted as he rose to his feet. His back didn't hurt like other elderly men or women’s'. In fact, he felt the exact opposite of pain. Underneath his red and burgundy robes Bujing felt his muscles roll as he stretched and began walking towards the boy.
"Would you like to hear a story?" Bujing asked the boy as he crouched on the ground and began scribbling on the dark stone as well. The boy nodded, even though he looked like he was taken aback.

And so Bujing began his story of the dragons' origins. It was quite an interesting story in Bujing's opinion. As he told the story, Bujing spoke of the relations between dragons and fire-benders. "We are brothers," Bujing explained when the boy looked confused, "bonded by the fire that flows through our blood. And look!" Bujing exclaimed quietly, pointing at the palace-like home's gates, "there's a dragon now!"

The boy looked over at the home, sprang up, and ran to the gates. There was a boy lounging in grass there, and, sitting next to him, was a dragon. Bujing thought it odd that the dragon just lay there, curled up, instead of being ridden like a normal dragon.
